Financial aid includes any support that helps you cover 的 expenses of a college 教育.
At Mott 社区 College, 金融援助 includes federal grants, federal work-study, state programs, scholarships, loans, 和 o的r forms of aid. 很多学生都符合条件 for more than one source of funds. Read on to learn about each type of aid.
联邦拨款 are money provided by 的 federal government, such as 的 Federal Pell Grant, to help cover 的 cost of your 教育. 联邦拨款 are based on your financial need, directly applied to your tuition, 和 do not need to be repaid. 大多数 MCC students are eligible for 联邦拨款.
联邦工作研究 is federally funded, part-time, on- or off-campus employment opportunities for students with financial need. This allows 的m to earn money to help pay 的ir living 和 教育al expenses. A Work Study award does not mean that employment 是可以保证的.

奖学金 are funds awarded to qualified recipients 和 do not need to be repaid. Different scholarships have different requirements (such as belonging to a specific community, academic excellence, or financial need). Many scholarships require application outside of 的 regular 金融援助 process.
The Foundation for Mott 社区 College offers dedicated scholarships for students 在MCC.
贷款 are 金融援助 that must be repaid with interest. For this reason, we encourage students to borrow responsibly, 和 to only borrow what is needed to meet your financial 需要. 贷款 may be offered by 的 federal government or o的r lenders. 还款 begins six months after graduation, withdrawal, or less than half-time enrollment. Some loans may have o的r repayment requirements.
